Accessibility
Last updated: October 2026
This site should work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification, or other assistive technology.
The standard
The goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site has not had a formal audit by an outside accessibility specialist, so this page describes what has been done and checked rather than claiming full conformance.
What is in place
- Pages use proper headings and landmarks (header, main content, footer), so screen readers can jump between sections.
- Every field in the contact form has a visible label, and the form works without JavaScript.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, and the item in focus has a clear outline.
- Text colors meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio against their backgrounds.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the page animations are turned off.
- The layout adapts to small screens and to zoomed text.
- The analytics cookie box can be used with a keyboard and does not block the page.
How it was checked
In October 2026, every page was tested with axe, an automated accessibility checker, against WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules. The issues it found (low-contrast grey text, and a missing main landmark on the home page) were fixed, and a second run found none. Keyboard use was also checked by hand, which turned up a hidden spam-trap field in the contact form that the Tab key could land on; it is now skipped. Automated tools catch only some problems, so real feedback matters.
If something doesn't work for you
If any part of this site is hard or impossible for you to use, please say so through the contact form. It helps to include:
- the page where the problem happened,
- what you were trying to do and what went wrong,
- the browser and any assistive technology you use.
I'll read it, reply to the email address you give, and fix what I can.
